1983 w126 Seat switch contacts

So, in the process of servicing my pass side door check, I broke one of the posts that stick out of the power seat switch. I took the switch apart and fixed that, but managed to lose one of the brass contacts. Does anyone know if those contacts are in another (cheaper) switch? Or does anyone have a seat switch laying around with something else wrong with it they'd part with? Thanks!

Post a pic of the parts you need. They are pretty easy to rebuild - except for the prongs.

I have been trying to buy one with all prongs intact for quite a while.

When I get back to Atlanta I will see if I have some of the contacts you need. But need a pic.

Answer

Search ebay for a good used unit.

They where discontinued, and superseded at the end of 1985.

Be sure to find one from a 1st gen 300SD (1985 or older). The second gen 126s have a different seat control system (similar to the one in the 124) and use a different switch. Best thing to do is use the part number of your actual switch in your eBay search.

I would try several times, try using the part number as one string (ie 126xxxyyzz), with dashes (126-xxx-yy-zz) and with spaces (126 xxx yy zz)

Well here's what I found out: The Gen II switch uses a different sized contact, so I couldn't use the contacts out of the memory switch I got from ebay. Still looking for a used switch.
