CV Boot Large Clamp
Noticed I lost the Larger CV Boot Clamp (right rear) from my 300D this week. Boot is still in great shape. Both half -Axles where replaced a few years back . I am planning to repack with grease , clean and reclamp it. However I'm so far still looking for a suitable Large Clamp replacement.. First one I purchased without thinking is too large. doh...
Was wondering if anyone has been in a similar situation?

Someone said that the Clamps used for the Hot Air outlet on Dryers (the thin flexiable ducting works). They are Worm Gear type clamps but not as wide as a Worm Gear Clamp
I think there is another issue. The original Mercedes Axles were filled with Oil. If you have a leak the Oil comes out and you don't have the right amount of lubrication. You can either refill it with the Special Oil, Differential Oil or pack it completaly with CV Axle Grease.

You should be able to buy these at any place that sells car parts - probably easier to buy in a conventional shop than hunting about on the internet.

+1 The ones that came with my new boots didn't fit well. I ended up buying a couple of different sizes from a well-stocked parts store and using the one that fit best.

The Kajger brand boots I bought for my W201 axles had 68mm stamped on them - they fitted. If I get the chance I'll dig out my W123 axles to see if the boot size is about the same or not... ...I've got a feeling the W123 axles have a slightly larger diameter.

This was for my 201. I installed Lemforder boots, but found the accompanying clamps didn't work. I think the ones I ended up using were made by Raybestos.

My W201 axles too. GKN supplied over sized - too big - clamps to me.
