606 fuel filter?

is there two or one filter on the 606 na 1995?

there are 2 - one is obvious - big 4 inch tall round item - undo the stop bolt and remove filter.

the other is a bit beside it and is buried in a cavity. Its held by a little collar and a 10mm head bolt - the end of the plastic fuel line terminates into the little filter.

Undo the bolt and use a screwdriver to lift it out.

Do this operation on a hot engine - remove the filters - and when installing the large one, fill it half way and prop it into place, then wedge something under it and make it sit flush with the housing and fill the rest of it to the top, Install the stop bolt with new washers.

hold the accelerator pressed in and start the engine - it should accelerate to 2500 rpm, hold it there for a few moments to make sure the engine can run smoothly (no air)

do not forget the large O ring on the little tube shaped primary filter you remove from the cavity.

Yep that large o-ring does not come in the package with the pre-filter.

The pre filter looks like something for a miniature coffee machine. If it is not too dirty you could conceivably blow it out with brake spray and put it back. But definitely change the o-ring if you open it up.

Be sure the bore where the o-ring sits is clean. Mine was not and it was causing a tiny air incursion and rough idle.
