Om603 turbo in 190d
 

Hi new to this forum I have a mercedes 190d fitted with a om603 turbo diesel want to tune this for more power don't know where to start , how much boost does the standard engine hold? What kind of power can a standard engine handle and produce?? And help would be great also to add I'm located in the southwest of the uk

603 swaps into 201s are somewhat common in Europe. Tons of them online. I'd like to do one but I think you really need to start with a 2.5 turbo or a 2.6 gas with the 2 piece core support for it to fit well.

You can run up to 20ish on stock valve springs before you see valve float. Won't matter on stock fuel and stockvturbo. Anything over 14psi on stock turbo is just a heat pump. Stock fuel won't get you more than 160hp.

Custom inlet manifold and modified exhaust manifold an bigger turbo but that's about as far as it's got

Might try removing or adjusting the ALDA and see what happens.
