Can't install fog light covers on Euro lights
I got a pair of Euro lights for my 300SD and decided to do the mod where you put the bulb holder and yellow bulb cover from a 2nd gen W126 fog light into the Euro lights to get yellow fogs. Well, I hit a block. The old bulb holder came out easily, but the holder from the 2nd gen W126 fog light appears to be too wide. The part that holds the cover to the bulb holder won't clear the opening on the reflector.
For those of you who've done this mod, did you run into this problem? If so, how did you solve it? Here's a photo so you can see what I mean.

Bend the clips in on the bulb cover, then it should be able to slide through. Then it's just a matter of clipping in the yellow cap from the other side.

I tried that. Still not enough clearance. The thing still won't fit. Oh well!

Interesting, maybe the 126 setup has a smaller diameter then the 123's..

Looks like it. In that case, I'll either go look for some select yellow bulbs or paint the fog portion of the lens with Krylon yellow stained glass paint.

I've had white fogs and yellow ones. White ones worked better for me.

A lot of the guys over on Hidplanet swear by nokya yellow bulbs. I personally krylon'ed my reflectors, as you can get untinted h3's at any parts store.

I got a pair of early W126 headlights and noticed this same difference.
