pressures and vent temps for 134a sanden/ PF condenser setup
so it has been about 4 days that i have had my a/c upgrades on my car and was curious what kind of vent temps and pressures i should expect? here is what i have done:
-Sanden SD7H15 enhanced compressor -16x20 parallel flow condenser -all new or rebuilt barrier hoses -w126 bosch aux fan that kicks on at about 175psi - flushed evaporator -new "134a" TXV -ETR adjusted to about 38 degree vent temp cutoff -evaporator cleaned very well -about 7oz of double end capped pag oil -new receiver/ drier and pressure switches -vac pulled for an hour with no leaks so as you can see, i think i have taken care of pretty much everything but my vent temps are only in the 50-60 degree range with blower on medium to high settings in 80-85 degree humid weather. still colder than r4 setup of course. after being on the highway doing 75, the vent temps would be in the 40's when it was 75 outside but i was expecting that when it gets in to the 90's outside. if i turn the blower on low, vent temps get low enough to cycle compressor. my pressures at idle when 86 outside, aux fan running, and blower on high are: 30 low and 190 high. pressures after 30 seconds of keeping engine at 3000 rpm are: 20 low and 245 high. head pressure climbs when revved. vent temps don't change that much from idle to driving and the suction line is always very cold and sweating under the hood. is there something wrong with my current charge? would messing with my txv adjustment screw help? i was really expecting colder vent temps with all this. any suggestions appreciated!

Did you pull evaporator to clean it?

No, I was actually able to clean it very well from the blower hole with coil cleaner, garden hose, and a shop vac. Stuck my phone up there and took pictures to see where I missed...

Your pressures indicate inadequate condenser area...

This could be from air in the condenser. "Vacuum" is a BAD way to test for leaks...
Always leak check with PRESSURE!

How does air get into the system? I can't imagine I have any leaks as everything is new and holding pressure. Don't you have to pull a vacuum to get all the moisture out?

Yes, but if there are leaks, the vacuum brings in air.

Best practice is to recover all refrigerant, then perform a t/p test on tank and see if it's pure 134.
Then pressurize with N2 or similar dry gas and time test for two hours to prove leak free.

Is there any other way to check? I don't have any of that equipment.

How did you adjust the ETR? Also what year of w126 is your aux fan out of? I need to do the same to our '83 300D

How much 134a did you put in your system?

edit: i forgot to answer 2nd question. it was from an 89 560sel. there are 2 types of the "large" aux fans. one is found on early w126's and w124's and has a motor that sticks out further. no problem if you are upgrading to a larger fan on a w126 but you need the later bosch fan with the skinny motor to clear the grille on a w123 without cutting anything. i'm not sure what year the changed to the bosch but you can go check out some w126's ans w124's at the pick n pull ans see what you can find with good bearings

Check out my post and video for the 2nd condenser I just installed. Fixed all my issues with excessive head pressures.

Do a search on here for ROLLGUY and pm him.
One of the more interesting things to do (I'm weird this way) is to watch how dynamic the a/c system is on my 98 E300 on the push button readout. Evap outlet temp, pressure, and hp side freon temp. Watching this shows you how it is all about the performance of the condenser.
