Center link replaced...do I need an alignment?

Getting the center link on the 91 replaced today....will I need an alignment afterward?

Only if you are unlucky - the centre link should be "exactly" the same length

It will be close but there will always be manufacturing variations.

The only alignment that will need checked is toe and recentering the steering wheel. Checking toe can be done with a tape measure.

If it tracked straight ahead before and continues with the new center link, you should be okay without an alignment.

Last center link was two years ago on my E300.
My alignment was spot-on before and after.
It's safe to say you should be good.

Good luck!

assuming it was replaced because one or both of the ball joints at its ends was failed, it might need an alignment now.

If the car was aligned with a sloppy joint or less than tight on either or both ends of the center link then replacing that loose link with a new in-spec tight link will change the previous alignment that was done earlier with its attendant compensation for the sloppy link.

So it depends if there was an alignment done with that less than tight link in place.
