General Question....Good Tire Gauge?..that won't break the bank

Hi,
I have two old tire gauges, I don't trust them, and hard to cap without
leaking air. I need a new tire gauge, but don't want to spend $40,
Any recs for a decent one?...not too expensive?
Thanks

Most of the parts stores have $.99 made in China ones. I don't really trust them that much, but I haven't seen anything better offered.

Hmm... I like the circular "tire" covered ones from advance auto... the digital ones are ok too...

I actually just use my refrigeration gauges when I'm checking tires.

I have the Accutire and it is a good one. Easy to use and see. However those silly batteries cost almost as much as the gauge. Though they do last a really long time. DollarTree had some electronic item selling for a dollar with the proper battery. I bought three and put the batteries in the Accutire. They would not even light it up. So much for Dollar Tree.

The 99-cent ones we use are decently accurate. Just be sure to get 4-5 readings to make sure that you get the same result each time (might be off by +/- 1 PSI... not a big deal).

The one that tango linked to looks nice. I like that it doesn't use batteries -- you just know the batteries in the digital ones will die just when you need it the most .

I agree with tango, that brass one is a great gauge. I've used them plenty over the years.

Why is sears.com always have trouble on their search field? Well, anyways, I'm looking for a good digital gauge on Amazon and your recommendations above are decent ones. However, I find this one on amazon as well that interests me considering its design and other features like replaceable battery, emergency cutters and hammer, 5 years protection guarantee and 90 days money back, compared to other gauges which they don't even mention. Amazon.com: Mountain Crest Products PREMIUM Tire Pressure Gauge- For Trucks Cars and Bikes- Its Accurate Sturdy and Compact: Automotive
Any thoughts on this?

F.Y.I. the shop gauge said that the Green Slime gauge I used is about ten pounds off.

Here is one made in Seattle Washington and both under the $40 requirement:
Standard 2" GID Tire Gauge 0-60 by 1 lb

Basic Digital Tire Gauge w/ active display 0-60 psi

If you're looking for a decent one you can take a look at amazon. There is an ample number of tire gauge producer there like Michelin, Accutire, Longacre and Mountain Crest Products Premium Tire Gauge. As for me, I've used two of these products before. First is Michelin then followed by Mountain Crest Tire Gauge. If you're looking for a price below $40, you can go and buy that Mountain Crest Tire Gauge. It has a lot of features and tools included with it at an affordable price.

I have the same brand, about 30 years old, with a foot long flexible hose on it, still going strong.
