high quality/ high cetane ULSD diesel fuel
I was wondering if grades of diesel fuel are refined in US and available for retail sale?
I saw in Europe they sell a few types of diesel fuel at the pumps. I recall the Audi race car diesels use a super diesel fuel. All the tags on the US pumps say minimum 42 cetane. jz |

I understand diesel sold in California has a higher cetane rating than the rest of the country. It didn't make any difference last time I ran some in my 300D.

Feredal law requires that all ULSD sold in the US since 2006 is either minimum 47 or 48 cetane depending on the size of the refinery it came from. 42 cetane fuel hasn't been sold in this country for years.
California diesel is minimum 53 cetane.
