how dirty it is really? 1 micron fuel filter

hi guys

I always wanted to cut open fuel filter to actually see the residue
this one is 1 micron CAT fuel filter after 3 B100 tanks and 8 diesel tanks.

dont know do the pics represent real thing but in vivo it is dirty as hell
one might wonder how fuel flows through that dirt... I had no starvation
due the clogged filter issues just wanted to analyize thingy a bit...

cheers
ChO

Bioidiesel cleans out everything.
Before running WVO, I bought commercial B100 and had to change out
both my filters a couple of times before things settled down. My guess is
that the B100 is just cleaning out all the decades old grime in your fuel
system. I always carry extra filters in the trunk.

You're running B100. Have you changed out the rubber in the fuel system
to viton? If not, you will have trouble down the road. Do the return lines first.

yes,I did all fuel hoses swap before b100,and twice standard second
fuel filter 10 micron (hengst) before 1 micron Cat also on b100,so this filth is just "standard" fuel filth

Concur,

100 bio will clean out your fuel system like no-ones business, when I filled my e300 for the first time with bio - i had a wheezy car in a 50 miles, I thought the fuel was bad.

I replaced my fuel filter and noticed it was a lot heavy than normal, when I took out the primary filter tube - it was packed with plasticky bits.

Cleaned it out and replaced filter, same problem 500 miles later, replaced it again. fast forward 6 months and a few fillups b100 and b20 I took out my tank strainer to find it half packed with muck. Cleaned it and the tank itself - never had a problem after that.

Strelink,
I ran B100 for about six months and then switched to WVO
so I never switched to viton and have never had a problem with
the fuel lines. Check the alt forum here for a source for viton.

Good Luck,
Jeff

PS. I'm off to Yosemite in the veggie mobile tomorrow.
Hope the bears don't find the SD too appetizing

Viton isn't necessary. Gates Barricade brand fuel line available at NAPA is B100 compatible at much less cost.
