Is there a way to force the A/C compressor to come on?

I'm not talking about pushing defrost on the control unit. What I'm looking for is a way to short a sensor or short a wire in the engine compartment to turn on the compressor. My compressor will not start when I engage the A/C. The connections on the compressor itself are rather inaccessible to be able to apply 12V directly, and the wires from the compressor clutch appear to disappear into a wrapped cable. Don't know where that comes out.

My A/C was working last fall, but now things have warmed and the compressor won't engage. I believe I know that low or no R-12 will cause a no engage condition, but I don't have gauges. I'd like to force the compressor to run at least for a short time to see if it starts to cool.

the wires end up in the connector that is located behind the battery where the electricky bits are.

I will have to look at the diagram to see which wire you can supply 12V to.

Jumper the connector on the pressure switch on the drier.

If that works you're more than likely out of freon, I've only ever seen like 1 bad pressure switch.

If that doesn't work then you can jump two pins under the klima but I don't know off hand which to two pins those are. That would point to a bad klima or an issue with the compressor or speed sensor.

Can you turn the compressor by hand? If its locked up all attempting to hot wire the clutch will do is throw your belt.

x2 on first turning the compressor by hand. Turn it by the face plate, the part that doesn't turn with the pulley when the compressor isn't engaged.

Jump pin 5 and 7 on the Kilma relay socket and compressor will come on with or without freon. Do it for a SHORT time only.
