Mystery bolts

Can anyone tell me what size are the cam mount bolts (2) on my 95 E300D/606.910 engine? It looks like they a 12 points around 10mm but I don't have any 12 point sockets which will fit into the hole. I don't want to buy a whole set. Would prefer to just buy the right socket.

If you are talking about the cylinder head bolts then they are 10mm bihexagon - and not XZN drive.. MB also sell a tool for it - you can also buy it from SNAPON - its sold as toyota/lexus cylinder head service tool.

No these are not the head bolts but thanks. The cam mount is a large rectangular plate onto which the cams are mounted The mount blocks access to the head bolts and has to be removed. On the 606 engine there are 2 bolts recessed into the mount attaching it to the head.

Well, I bought the whole set. Turned out to be a 9mm 12 point. When the bolts came out, the cam housing/mount came right off. Thanks for the "head up" about the difference between a bi-hex and a tri-square.
