Doesn't your car already have an oil pressure gauge?

Try NAPA for fittings.

I just went out and took a look at my spare oil filter housing, and it appears like there's plenty of material to allow drilling and tapping for an NPT fitting. From there you can get whatever adapters you need to get to your mechanical gauge capillary tube hooked up.

Alternately you could leave the sender in place as a block off and drill and tap the cover for your gauge. That's been done many times.

Why do you want to go mechanical?

I want to go to a mechanical gauge because my I'm getting a lower reading the needle stays at 2 all time after the engine is warm shows 2 when is idling and little over 2 when I'm driving it used to be 3 when driving and 2 at idle before I drop the oil pan to check the oil pump and bearings I want to make sure I'm getting the correct reading.

I'd suggest going to the junk yard and grabbing an oil filter housing cover. Drill and tap for your mechanical gauge and do your tests. When you're done swap the original one back on. While you're at it grab an electrical sender and a gauge module. That way you can know exactly where the problem is and fix it....assuming of course it's not the pump, or worse. 90% chance the problem is the gauge/sender/ground.

By the way, have you added an extra ground to the cluster yet? That might be all you need to do. It's recommended for all Mercedes of this vintage.

Tanks for the tips mach4 I'll go to the junk and see if I can find the oil filter housing cover and do the test. First thing I'll do is add the extra ground to the cluster I haven't done it yet
