E300 guys - How many miles on your Transmission?

and what kind of maintenance do you give it?

my E300 is running nicely on the original transmission. I figure when it blows then I'm looking at a $4K repair and I'll probably sell. My fluid and filters have been changed only a few times in 219K of miles (lots of freeway driving).

My 722.6 was still doing great at 311k when the head was totaled which in turn totaled the car.

Current recommendation for some time has been to change filter/fluid every 36k miles.

The '96 E300 (W210, OM606NA) had its 722.4 tranny overhauled due to front pump seal leaks (249,000 miles, $2900 in late 2007); the mechanic said the wear parts had another 50K miles on them and all the hard parts were good. Maintenance was and is oil/filter every 30,000 miles.

The '95 E300 (W124, OM606NA) is at 213,000 miles with the original 722.4 tranny. Maintenance is oil/filter every 30,000 miles.

I was thinking every 40-50k....perhaps a bit more often is safer.

I must add my car has no leak(s) on Transmission or Engine. But does seeps fuel lightly in Cold nights. I do have Viton "O" rings that I need to replace on Fuel lines. May do that in the Fall; too hot in Dallas to do it now.

208K. I had the filter and fluid changed when I got it in 2012 w/ 187K miles. Don't know anything before that. Yes, if it blows I'll probably sell it, though it won't be worth much at that point.

Just curious… Where did you come up with that regimen?

All running smooth/perfect.

Great transmission!
