Vacuum pump from Autolampsplus?
Anyone ever deal with these people? They are offering a new style vacuum pump for the OM603-960 engines, new for $187.00. They are up front and say they are aftermarket, they don't say who makes them though.
Thanks for any input. |

I've seen them on Ebay, I have no idea on the pump, I'm sure it's a Chinese knock off. Soon enough the Chinese stuff will be as good as the Japanese stuff, or Taiwanese. Remember when we hated anything from Japan or Taiwan? Everything from those places was considered junk. Things change, they do get better once on the global market.

I wondered about that pump too, but I got a Pierburg instead for about $280. My original pump was totally fine after 27yrs.

Email the Company and ask them.
Ebay Sellers seem more inclined to answer than if you go to the Company website. Once in a while the eBay seller posts where the Item is made if you page down.

I purchased an item from them before but it was wrong. They gave me a refund, but lost money on the return shipping.

Thanks all for the reply's. I mounted the older style with the crimped cover back on the engine. I used the gasket with the dam that holds oil up in the pump per Pierburg's instructions.
I will replace it but the old check book needs to recover from the engine swap now going on, a 300 for my bad 350. |
