73 220d injector!!

one of my diesel injector is leaking pretty badly, enough to soak the front half of the block. i found a reman bosch unit for $65, sound reasonable enough?

any issues installing them? any tips? or pretty straightforward?...

THANKS!

are you sure its not the fuel return lines that are leaking? there can be hidden tears or swelling in the hoses that causes it to leak. you will SWEAR its the injector leaking but really its just the hose! i know i've seen it myself. the hose will look completely fine but it is not. this is especially true if its the cloth covered hose.

In a pinch you can use Tygon small engine fuel hose, which you should be able to get at any small engine/lawnmower/chainsaw repair place. It will get you by. It's yellow/green translucent hose.

Otherwise you can usually get the injector return hose most easily at any decent VW supplier.

In either case you buy it by the foot and cut to the needed length.

Top speed is right around 80 mph. But your car is essentially at max load and max rpm at that speed. 65-70 seems comfortable in my 220d, but that is basically an arbitrary decision that I have made. My car overheats if you try to go 80 for any length of time.
