There was not a 617 in that car, at least from the factory. Any other pics?

I've been following this one for at least ten years, and it came back up for sale at the bargain price of $2,900: https://barnfinds.com/oddball-camper-1964-mercedes-190d/

I saw a similar 'camper built on an old 240, this one was a wooden one with shake shingles!
Rear suspension looked to be completely bottomed out.

I saw it down in Tijuana, no, not part of the 'caravan', this was 20 years or so ago.

I wanted to, but have been saving my money for a decent 230S. It would have been more tempting if it had a proper rear door or hatch so it could also be used like a station wagon. Here are some older pics of it:

Also, this car is a 190D and it still has the original OM621 4 cylinder diesel engine.

Post Clapped Out near Death Camper Project

This car has been here before, in the craigslist thread I think .

It's neat but very old and tired, isn't worth much considering all the work necessary to get any old wood framed camper road worthy again ~ why else do you think it's been sitting so long ? .

I'd love it too .
