Sighting on Tappan Zee

On my way to PA a few weeks ago, I saw this on Tappan Zee westbound. Looked to be in absolutely perfect condition....love the 300D antique plate.

Anyone know what year this is?

300d would be post '57 W189 adenauer up to like 1962. And the d has nothing to do with diesel. The d was a longer wheelbase and had some cosmetic changes, and was mechanically fuel injected.

Love the lines! Is that from your dash cam? Do you have a shot from the front?

No, from my iPhone. Thought about trying to get a shot from the front but decided it would be too dangerous!

WOW. Awesome looking car. I'd be scared to drive it!

I've had sightings, like this one a few years ago:

They were rumoured to have marginal brakes although I never drove one. Also there was a period in time while not a dime a dozen they were very cheap to aquire. Very nice example of the type.

Way back in 70's or 80's, my father bought one for $500 and shortly after sold it for $900 (or something like those numbers), he thought he'd made out like a bandit. In the mid-90's we looked up the theoretical value for the car, it was over $40k...

Adenauers are fairly valuable but generally they are more expensive to do a full restoration that they are worth. So much wood, leather, and chrome.

Honestly the new samsung galaxy phones blow the camera on the iPhone out of the water. Might be post processing or something but my gf's takes spectacular pictures.

FWIW my iPhone is a 5s....significant camera improvement, from what I'm told.
