Need A Favor
I'm replacing the trans mount while I have the driveline out (see my post on trans output flange wobble).
And something occurred to me. When I replaced the original mount a couple of years ago, the new mount was about one half inch shorter. Since it was the same in all other respects, I just shimmed the new mount higher. Figured I ordered or was sent the wrong part and was in a hurry to get the car back on the road. So this time, I made sure to order the listed part and it is the same height as the new one last time (shorter than the original). I'm wondering now if some mis-alignment due to this height confusion is what caused my trans output flange to wear. I would like to get to the bottom of this before I re-install the driveshaft. Would someone please go to EPC (I don't have access) and find the part number for an '81 300TD? The new mount that I have is 116 240 0418. Is there a different, taller mount with a different part number for this year/model? Thanks everyone. |
I don't have the EPC either but whoever looks it up will need your VIN.

The part number you gave does not fit a 123, according to the epc.
The transmission mount is part #123 240 2518, the info is tiny in the attachment. |
