Except it's adsit, they will send you 13" bundts and charge you a restocking fee.

I've heard enough bad reviews and stories for Adist to never want to do business with them.

I seem to recall a previous thread, some time ago, where a member who had cars with both the OE and the Adsit replica Bundts compared them. The Adsit wheels were nowhere near the OE ones in terms of quality.

In any case, if Adsit were to try to commission custom wheels, I would shudder to see the price point. Its one thing to sell knockoffs of an existing product, quite another to spec out entirely new wheels and get them made.

15" bunts are readily available from German Ebay. I got a set, had them winter chromed, and once I have time to drive my CD, they will go on.

Im not sure if I would or wouldn't trust Adsit... its more about if you can trust their manufacturer that they contract with...

The OP mentioned 15x7 and 16x8. Im not a fan of wider tires, rather some lower profile tires in a size with good options. So the optimal approach would be to make a size that would support a ubiquitous size that has lots of good options yet isn't too over the top in size and width (215/55R16 comes to mind as a good option), yet is assured to NOT rub on 107/116/123/126 cars...

What was the shipping to North America? (And how long ago did you get them?)

Hmm, that wheel doesn't have the steel lug seat the 14" wheels do...

That is the main issue with the Adsit replicas.

Agreed, but he's showing off a German mb wheel...

MBeige 07-05-2014 10:58 PM

None of the aftermarket 15" bundts I've seen have the lug bolt seats. The chrome one pictured above looks like an ATS or ARC.

dieselbenz1 07-05-2014 11:13 PM

Awesome wheel but what is winter chroming, I am unfamiliar with the term. May I ask the cost to chrome them?

MBeige 07-06-2014 12:01 AM

By the way here's a good write up I found a while back of the 15" bundts.

At the bottom he actually used my car as reference, but incorrectly called mine as ATS. Surprised by that since he got most of the details correct in the description of each type and differences between the two.

Classic Mercedes fans, 15-inch versions of the original 14-inch “bundt” style wheels from 1969-85 are out there. Here’s how to find them… | CLASSIC CARS TODAY ONLINE

Which leads me to believe it's the same manufacturer as Adsit gets theirs from?

The only set of OE 15" Bundts I can ever recall seeing up for sale, went for north of $1000 (used) and that was many years ago now. So I am assuming the ones off German eBay are aftermarket?

I forget the manufacturer. Rest assured any replicas made to a price point likely wouldn't either. I'm sure folks can go buy a set from MB Classic for $1800-2000 if they like.

No these are 1980s Euro manufactured (TUV marked iirc) wheels. Not some Chinesium stuff from Adsit.
