My 95 E300D is Hosing Me!

I am wrapping up a head rebuild. Thanks to this forum I was able to get as far as correctly setting the timing. I buttoned it up and started it up. Engine ran very smooth for maybe 30 seconds and then jumped into Warp Drive (WOT). Shut it down and restarted a few times with the same result, WOT and no pedal control. Removed the intake manifold and discovered a few hoses which, in my rush to finish, I had neglected to connect! I had marked them when I started this project but most of the tapes had come of the hoses so I really don't know what goes where. Does anyone have or know where I can get a vacuum hose schematic diagram for a 1995 E300D 606.910? I am real close to finishing this. Any help is greatly appreciated.

A schematic should be on a small sticker somewhere toward the front of the engine compartment on that part where I always put my beer.

unless you disconnected the injection pump shut off valve and did not orient it correcty the engine could not just run away like that.

Are you sure the linkage that goes to the injection pump from the manifold bracket is not bound up. Sometimes the little cruise control linkage gets stuck and can cause this but you should be able to pull it back.

If you can shut her off by the key then you are safe in the sense that your engine is not actually running away on oil and whatever it is that is causing this run is in the accelerator linkage.

I agree... I can think of no hose that would cause wide open rack conditions... disconnect the linkage, and verify nothing is bound up...

I think the OP meant hosing as in f***ing. You should know better.

I guess Funola understands being "hosed". Anyhow, it looks like I was wrong about the "hosing". Appears to have been a jammed linkage as everyone suggested. Removed the intake manifold, checked the hose connections (I found a diagram, iceman805 post), put it back together and it runs fine. Did not find a diagram sticker where conerm always puts his beer. Must be long gone. Thanks again for all the help. This forum saved me a good piece of change.

Id wager that you pushed down and locked the vertical linkage to maximum position when you installed the manifold - I have seen that happen when I am rebolting the manifold back to the head.
