Part Number for white plastic valve at rear of IP

There is a white plastic valve or modulator which sits at the rear and on top of the injection pump on a 617 engine. There appears to be two vacuum lines coming out of it, one which goes into a round green "pot" which then has another vacuum line coming out of it. Does anyone know the name/part number for this particular white plastic valve or modulator? Thanks!

It's the VCV or vacuum control valve.

It is no longer available from Mercedes, or anywhere else, new.

You're going to instead need to investigate fixing yours, or sourcing a functional used part.

Here is the DIY on adjustment:

Not to pick nits, but just a note that some early ones are not adjustable. I had to replace the one on my 1980 TD with an adjusted one from a 1983.

Well......I just got the word that these vacuum 2/3 valves are NLA so I thought I would attempt to locate one that is used but in good condition. Speaking of which, does anyone know the actual MB part number for the vacuum control valve?

lolz... the last of these cars rolled off the assembly line 30 years ago. i'd LOVE it if most companies stood behind a product for thirty years.

Vacuum Control Valve and the 2/3 valves are two different items. The VCV sits on top of the IP and regulates vacuum to the transmission. The 2/3 valves sit on top of the valve cover and switch on/off emissions type items (EGR, etc) I believe.

On both of my 617's I have removed the 2/3 valves. That was done many many years ago.

^ Agreed.

I have taken the 3/2 valve out of the equation on both cars.
