This is the best 300D forum I've found, but it is a little difficult sometimes that it is under a vendor sales catalog site. I appreciate them sponsoring it, though I occasionally get muzzled when I try to say "I bought it at rock..." or such. I do buy from the vendor occasionally and try to shop them first out of dedication. They sometimes have the best price, or at least reasonable, but many parts have outlandish M-B or Euro prices, beyond the price of my loyalty.

Rollguy and others offer a valuable service and at fair to amazing prices. But might not be in PP's best interest. It might help them remain the pre-eminent site for us, which does help them in the long run. There are many here who enjoy paying Euro prices and perhaps even foddling the rare and expensive objects when they arrive.

I have to point out, that everyone that offers a service or sells a product here, already has a presence on the forum. I have 4 of the items I produce linked in my signature. The whole idea behind creating a sub-forum is just to gather them all together. I doubt any user (member) is trying to compete with the site sponsor. The products I offer are basically niche items that are not available anywhere else, and are M B (mostly Diesel) specific. Many services that are offered here have the same attributes.....Rich

I'm surprised they let you get away with even that much. I guess because the links look like they're pointing back to their own site, they don't raise whatever automatic mechanism it is that blocks links to the likes of R_ck__t_, P_rtsg__k, or M_rc_d_ss__rc_. By allowing you to sell emissions defeat "test pipes", they are unwitting partners in whatever CARB action eventually awaits you. If they had a vendor forum, you can bet it would be better vetted.

If there's a free-for-all, I want to start running ads here too!

Interesting point about the emissions-defeat devices. IIRC, those are illegal.

A test pipe is just that. However, M B has a factory version for some engines. If this device was installed on a vehicle that required emissions testing, then it would be a different story. Most folks agree that EGR and the trap-ox don't belong on a Diesel engine. Also, with the low sulfur fuel being used nowadays, our Diesels are much cleaner than they were back when they were made.

This thread would be much more interesting if people

talk about what they want instead of explaining the alleged motives and agendas of other people.

Yes, yes, but that doesn't make it legal.

I'm not getting on you for selling what you do -- EGR stinks -- but I could see that if there is an officially-sponsored forum for service/part sales, Wayne would be very hesitant to sell something that is, for all practical purposes, meant for illegal modifications.

That's why I think a sticky would work better.

I think a sticky would work just fine as well. That is the reason for this topic- to have dialog about mingling all of the existing products and services that members offer. To me a sticky would do the same thing as a sub forum. The alternate fuel forum is a sub forum, but could have been made a sticky just as well. Actually, a sticky might be a better way to organize this topic than a separate forum. Again, all I am after is some way to combine all the products and services offered here in one area. If a sticky is what it takes, great. If a sub-forum would work better, then that is fine. If it is best to just stay the way it is, I am okay with that, as it is working......Rich

My thoughts would be to use the forum section called the classifieds. There is a lot of buying and selling going on there.

A sticky in which forum? Who decides whether it should be a sticky or no sticky?
