Lose Bolt on Cam oil squirter??

Here is a question, I have had this issue on my euro since I got it. On the center riser, the bolt that holds the clamp on the tube is lose, and the bolt pops out a bit but not completely, when you attempt screw it back in....it is like threads are missing. Since I am going on a 5000 mile road trip I wonder if this is something I should fix? Would there be any issues with just removing the clamp and bolt? I could try to lock tight it in. It has been this way for many miles and has never just came out, thinking the valve cover may keep the nut from popping all the way out...Thoughts???

Sounds like stripped threads

It would make me itch to have something loose in the valve gear. I would repair before driving.

Well pulled the valve cover, add some lock tight but the bolt would not tighten down, appears the threads are damaged. My only other choice was to remove it. I highly doubt it will cause any ill effect as it just holds a clamp for the squirter and it being lose for all these years, the car has ran fine. Its a good thing I pulled the cover, had one tight valve, appears the nuts were lose, i may have forget to tighten them down after the last adjustment, also one of my fuel return lines was pinched.

Off hand, I would guess the clamp keeps the tube from vibrating and eventually cracking.

If the threaded hole is stripped out, could a Heli Coil type repair work?

I was thinking about the heli coil too. When I looked in the hole, it almost looks like it is open to the barring. I think the best thing would maybe be to tap/die it for a little bigger bolt..
