Wink 300 CD rear window repair

The rear window only went down half-way before hanging up. There is a Z shaped bracket on the window holder with a post that connects to the motor. The bracket was reinforced on one side with a gusset but not one the other which bent. I straitened it out and welded a 5/16 nut on the ungusseted side then adjusted the front track and nylon rod guides. Works fine now. Hope this helps someone out. I hear this was a chronic problem.

Pictures? I don't own a CD so I don't know what it looks like.

Do you think that the Nut could be attached with low Temp Silver Solder (I thini it is around 760 Degrees F needed to melt it).

Also most People don't own a Welder and the ones who do most often have an ARC Welder; and I don't think an ARC/Stick Type Welder is suitable for the Job. What type of Welder did you use?

Ya I feel some of your pain on that. I still have dial up and for me it is those videos that People post I cannot watc and worse I have trouble entering a lot of the Publishers Clearing House Contests when that attach too many animated Ads.

OK do you have only an AC ARC Welder or do you have the AC and DC Settings so you can revese the Polarity and change which part gets hot first? And, of course which settings did you use?
