Narrowing down SLS valve quirk...

Im starting a new post as the title of my the old post suggests simply to do with bleeding.

I think Ive come to a conclusion about the way the hydraulic suspension is acting.

It appears the shocks will expand to their maximum when the SLS valve is manually manipulated to raise the suspension. But they wont come back down.

Ive replaced all o-rings in the Valve but not the little piston. It seemed stuck upon first opening, but every other time Ive opened it since (3 times now in the last week) it seems to be moving in and out OK, but of course Im no expert on these valves.

It seems it would be a valve issue if the car wont go down after going up no?

I also have a slight doubt that its really at its max height. as I can still push the vehicle up a little (bouncing-like) while under the car wih the system running and valve lever at the max height level. But perhaps this play is there to allow for smoother ride, like if hitting a pot-hole at least there will be some give in the suspension.

I wondered if perhaps the o-rings I picked up at a hydraulics shop are not quite close enough to the original? We did quite a careful comparison.

Anyone with good knowledge in this area? I dont want to go and spend almost $100 on this little vale reseal kit if its not at all necessary...

Apart from anything else, if you can post pics of how your car looks when it's at the heights you describe, you might get input on what is normal and not.

When I refilled my system after it completely drained itself when a shock blew, after driving for a while with it in a squat, to bleed out the air, the rear of the car rose up very high. Looking at it side-on, you could see open space between the top of the rear tire and the wheel well lip.

It settled back to what I would call a normal-ish level after a few days of driving. I say -ish because it's a little low for my tastes, but I am not going to touch that damned system again if I can help it.
