Need a good quality car cover..
Mine is worn, so worn that it leaves little white flakes all over the car. I'm thinking that the white flakes are some sort of absorbent material that is contained between two pressed layers. Cover is 6 years old, & ripped.
Looking for a good quality cover less than $200. Anyone have any recommendations? I normally put padding (anti-fatigue mats) on the hood, roof, and trunk lid when thunderstorms/hail is a threat, so I'm looking for something that is not cut so tight that I can't put it over the pads...many thanks. Forget it.
If you need a quality cover, go to the dealer and order one for your car. If you need it under $200 go to wallyworld and buy an annual replacement tyvekish cover. Other companies sell quality covers, but inflation has pushed anything remotely quality over $300

(and to tease john/vstech a little...)
You can also purchase covers from our forum sponsor: Pelican Parts - Outdoor Car Covers

I wasn't trying to make any claim regarding quality or cost. I was simply teasing that you sent a potential sale away from Pelican when I was under the impression that was discouraged. Sorry if it was a dumb joke.
I have no first hand experience with covers from Pelican (so I cannot speak to quality), but the price for a w124 sedan is $120-$320. I wasn't sure what type of car the OP is driving.

I gotcha.
it's discouraged to link to parts sale sites. a cover is an accessory. it's cool that pelican sells them, but since it's not a car part, it didn't occur to me that they had them too. good catch, thanks!

Thanks for all of the responses, fellows.
The Pelican website has many different covers and rates them for quality...very informative...didn't know that they sold covers so thanks for the tip. My car is a non-turbo 300D. The car cover that I've had on it was from my Honda Ridgeline truck (obviously much larger than needed). It was so large that it almost touched the ground, but I grew to like the non taylored, loose fit because it allowed plenty of room for my padding, hood star, and mirrors. Once covered, no one would know that there was a Mercedes underneath. I'm tempted to bust the budget and purchase an oversized again, simply because Of the double duty on the truck, or the disguise factor on the old Benz's. Thanks for all of your suggestions...Paul |

im using a cover made by "Budge" on my 115. Very pleased, had it at least 4 years and its held up well. Has a kind of cottony inner layer that doesnt hurt paint.
I don't believe it was that expensive, I seem to recall the 150 dollar range.
