Visor Clips

Why are they so expensive??? Mine are broken again, but for $38 a piece I am thinking of A. carving some out of hardwood or B. carving some out of aluminum or steel. Anyone tried this? I think I could do it with a die grinder.

I was quoted $50 at the dealer for 123's and 126's.

Junk yard ones break the first time you use them.

I cross referenced the number, no 210's, oh well.

I installed the w210 visor clips today courtesy of Mr Alipak. The clips are considerably bigger and more robust, and simply trimming off the two extra plastic prongs on the bottom enables them to fit the 124 perfectly. The opening where the visor rod rests is a bit larger than the original 124 clips, but I don't think that will be an issue. I think the opening being so tight was one of the reasons for the clips breaking. The tightness certainly is not needed to keep the visor from swinging down unintentionally, as they have remained up just fine for the past several months with no clips at all. I will report back as to the longevity and function of this "mod". Thank Again to Alipak

When you install new visor clips, don't tighten the phillips screw until is tight....simply tighten it down to you feel a little resistance and then stop...I made this mistake on my euro...

Dieselmania, glad you made it work out of something that was sitting in my attic for a year. I have other W210 & OM606 stuff that I would be glad to giveaway for postage value.

I am updating this thread to report that the 210 clips have been working for almost 2 years now. A definite "proven" pocket book saving mod for the 124.
