THINK OF THE CHILDREN
By Amazon Customer on September 10, 2014
After the brake booster line broke on my last w123 and I was force to bail out of the moving vehicle as I was rounding the curves in the swiss alps listening to the gorgeous sounds of Flight of the Valkyries at full blas, I proactively bought this brake booster line for a mere $44,890.00 USD. Wha a bargain. It was because of the experience of watching the horror of my fine German engineered turbo charged diesel powered automobile roll off the side of the mountain, catch on fire and then continue to roll over some mountain goats until its final resting place; that is the local elementary school during class; after the horror of watching flaming goats and small children dressed in lederhosen cook like piglets on an open spit; I felt that no amount of money was TOO MUCH to spend to prevent such a tragedy of horrific proportions. You should only have the best brake booster lines available in your car, think of the children!

At that price, you'd think they could provide free shipping...

Maybe that inflated price due to the fact that they only have one in stock,(rare part for super rare vehicle) and they know all MB owners are filthy rich.

... I would not hesitate to drive my car with the vacuum booster line broken... Sure, it would require additional pedal pressure to actuate the brakes, but it wouldn't prevent them from working...
Obviously the storyteller was driving too fast for conditions... But he had time to bail from the car...

I assume that a line break would cause the same symptom as the vacuum pump diaphragm tearing....

I had that happen to me... and I was amazed at how much pressure was required to stop..

I was having to pull on the steering wheel and push with all I had to keep from rolling through stop signs...

This is not ' a little ' additional force needed... and in a situation where you do not realize you are needing that extra force until you are needing to stop... ... it can be very scary.

Hey, you really never know what you are getting from Amazon. In late April I saw a listing on amazon for a left and right CV type axle to fit Mercedes Benz W123, all models. They were new in box, manufactured by EMPI, and could be purchased for $53.20 each. I bought both of them and put them on the shelf in my garage. I just didn't even think of opening the package at the time, because it was already pretty warm and my car did not really need new axles. But with the cooler weather, the other day I began to think about installing them, got them down and I was really surprised. They are beautiful, shinny steel ends, painted shafts, new rubber and "made in China". But, at the same moment I knew they were not for a W123. They both fit the left front of the BMW wagon from like 2001 to 2008. Such a deal. They came from a small shop in Maryland I recall. I notified Amazon, but they said I delayed to long. Sorry for the mistake. They would contact the seller to see what they would do. That has been two weeks now and I haven't heard anything. So if anyone needs a left front CV axle for a BMW wagon, I have a couple that I will sell cheap.

I always check the listing to make sure it says "By Amazon.com" not a 3rd party.

By Amazon.com = comes out of their own mega warehouses and they stand behind it.
anything else = same thing as eBay Buy it Now.

I got that same line for something like 30 bucks from Pelican. I don't think mine was genuine MB. I guess that's the reason for the extra $44,560.

If it is really for the children, then why are there any left at all? The Dem politicians should buy them all with tax dollars and give them away for a vote.
