I was looking at the child lock switch for the windows on the W140 and noticed that it is a 3 pin illuminated switch and appears to fit in the same slot as the regular child lock switch found in late W201s, W124s, and late W126s.

I thought it would be interesting to try to add this type of switch to my cars simply for the novelty of it. You would just need the switch itself and the different plug for it and then just tap the 3rd pin from it used for illumination into the wire used for illumination on one of the neighboring window switches. I'm going to try it as soon as I can get a hold of some W140 child lock switches. That is if the W140 switch will fit...

I'll report back as soon as I know, in case anybody else wants this novelty.

I went to my local Pick n Pull today and found that while very similar, the two switches are not interchangeable. The illuminated later style one is slightly larger and will not fit into the wood trim. Oh well... Not a big deal.
