fuel filter interchangeability

Some one gave me a couple of Mann spin-on fuel filters p/n 6010901452. The can is a little larger than the Mann filters I currently use on my OM617 300CD although the sealing gasket appears to be the same size.

I currently use Mann 716. These filters are Mann 817/3 and have a sealing gasket around the banjo bolt outlet as well as the filter seat.

Can I use the Mann 817/3 and will they be effective on my OM617?
