Road Trip Tommorow Morning and Slightly Concerned

Preparing for tomorrow's road trip, including leaks and fluid, that has lead to some questions.

I thought I remembered filling up the radiator and reservoir, however, in about May noticed low on coolant (I am really bad at checking since can't see the level), but the level doesn't seem to have changed. Is it possible that the heater core wasn't fully filled?

I did disconnect the transmission lines from the radiator, but have no leaks despite the ports not being blocked. I pressurized the system as best I could and seems fine. Any further ideas?

I will be changing the A.T.F. fluid, since need to replace the crush washers, which at least one is leaking. After which, like to change the oil and filter for good measure.

Further, also have to get the horns working. Some bloke nearly crashed into me and really could have used a horn to alert him of the impending danger. Figure with a road trip, going to be even worse, especially since snow bird season.

Can guide rods clunk? Can they affect camber? The frond end clunking has gotten bad, but intermittent. I shook the engine as hard as I could, no real movement or sound. Track rods and springs are the only front end components not replaced. Plan to do it before the trip up to Oregon.

Borrow a coolant system pressure tester to fing your leaks.

Drain the torq converter when you do the trans fluid.

I wouldn't personally worry about a horn but fix it if you can.

Guide rod mounts can clunk. They are normally for adjusting caster. I don't know that they affect camber unless very worn.

So how is different than pressurizing to 15p.s.i.?

That is the only drain plug I have, because the P.O.'s husband's assistant didn't want the pan plug to come looks so torqued it so tight not even a hammer and chisel will get it out! I also replaced the filter. Now the torque converter has a new crush washer and shouldn't leak.

I figured while I was down and dirty, go ahead and install the hardware so the wires are hooked up. With that done, should, note should, work.

Last summer was dealing with stuff and had Bud the mechanic was supposed to replace the idler I.I.R.C., but instead said he did everything and refused to use the same brand parts I bought (that was the most upsetting). Turns out he didn't do the idler, as the clunk never went away, and it's caused by the idler's slop, plus the rubber is hard and the nuts are dirty, more significantly more than the tie rods. Glad I verified! Tried tightening, but not even the hammer seemed to have an affect.

Is one inch at the steering wheel a danger? I have gotten used to wandering in stiff side winds. Doesn't change lanes so not horrific.

Trip went fairly well, but could use y'alls help.

Headed home and a sound like a buzzing, almost like a playing card on a bicycles spokes came from the turbocharger. It got really bad getting onto the freeway, but when we pulled off, it quit. That is when the boost gauge which is loose separated from the hose. Could a manifold leak cause this? Went away once I bent over the tube and taped it that way so no more leaks.

Further, have a performance issue after the engine has run at 85*C for a while. Keep at it and becomes really sluggish until you get off the freeway and get the temperature below for a while. Any ideas?
