Anyone Have Experience With These Brands?

It looks like I have the choice between a few different brands of timing chain tensioners. Meyle, Febi, or Laso. According to this 500E / E500 Parts Manufacturer Quality List Meyle and Febi are on the iffy list. Laso makes good water pumps. I'm at an impasse.

I have a lifter tick that is making me mad. Sounds like the motor is going to blow up and it's embarrassing... I also have an odd noise that I think is the timing chain slapping. So what I want to do is replace the lifters, blow out the lifter oil gallery like gsxr suggests, replace the timing chain tensioner, and replace the valve cover gasket (F*%$ing Victor Reinz gasket currently that's leaking).

I think I'll use Ina lifters. Input on that is appreciated as well. Valve cover gasket choice looks to be Hebmuller.

i'd stay away from meyle at all times. febi makes crap parts but is also a reboxer of good parts. if you can get the part in your hand to examine it and see where its made, might be OK. don't know about laso.

I agree with sleepstar's comments regarding those 3 manufacturers. I'd pass on them. You're on the right track using the 500e board list.

I see Pelican has the same Febi tensioner you mentioned. I found an OEM tensioner for not much more than the Febi one. If you want to pm me I'll be glad to help you locate one.

You should be okay with INA.

Assuming you want Mercedes part number 601 050 07 11

Alternatives are here =>

Car Part MERCEDES 601 050 07 11 (6010500711), Tensioner, timing chain

The Lemforder part gives hits in Google - very cheap part on amazon.co.uk...

...BUT check that Mercedes number before ordering. My advice is free and comes with no money back guarantee!

I have a Laso Timing Chain Tensioner that is for a Non-turbo Engine. It is made in Germany.
Laso does not seem the sell the type of parts that most of the People on the Forum replace so there is not likey to be a lot of information on that Company
