Fuel Filters

Wanting to change the fuel filters on the MB. Is there anything I can substitute to fill the secondary filter with to get it primed? I don't have any diesel fuel around here.

I have a half quart of transmission fluid left from changing my transmission fluid again today left over. I will go with that then. You need to fill it to the brim before attaching it right?

Fill as much as you can without risking spillage, then pump the hand primer until you hear/feel the buzzing from the bypass.

You can change your filter without prefilling the filter, it'll just take more pumping of the primer to fill it.

Yes, fill until it has fluid sitting just on top held back only by the rubber seal around the rim. You'll be surprised how much fluid it holds. It will take most of that half quart of ATF.

1 gallon of Marvel Mystery Oil once got me from an O'Reilly's to a filling station, smooth as silk but Down on BTUs. The engine really seemed to like it.
