95 e300 need help IDing and finding a part

This is my first post. I'm feeling like I have gotten my self in deep on this 95 e300 Mercedes. So I noticed this little plastic/rubber part break off. It is the little socket tip that fits on the ball of the switch on the vacuum control flap. In reading about the vcf it seems like and unneeded part perhaps.
So should I disable it or should I try to find just that little end piece?
Any suggestions appreciated.

Yes, you can delete that. I forget the details (did this on mine when I had a 95), but you can tie it with wire in such a way that the flap is always open. If you do a search there are some threads on this issue.
