Question Trying to confirm Bosch model number for starter for '85 federal 300d

Can someone please confirm whether the '85 OM617 takes an SR67X or an SR70X?

I see different answers depending on what website I look at.

The MB Atlanta site says 70. My friend found an old Bosch catalogue and it says 67.

Or does it matter for the '85?

The California models with the Trap Ox can only use the Bosch SR70X.
The Bosch SR67x is for all other turbo 617. However you can use the SR70x on the Federal models, but you will have to stretch the wiring and you'll pay a bit more.

Make sure your starter is really bad before replaceing it. Was all set to replace mine is until I was going to take it off and found out it was only mounted with 1 bottom bolt and even that one was lose that also held the ground strap replaced bolt tightened up been working fine ever since. If you do need one the 67x will fit 81-85s.

Thumbs up Shout out to Yuke

Had my wrench put the car up on the hoist today to clean the main ground cable and we looked at the starter too. Everything looked fine.

Lo and behold... when we poked around, one of the bolts was loose.

Ambient temps have risen here so it may be hard to tell if it has any bearing on my cold morning issues, right away.

Thanks for the suggestion though!
