1995 E300D Intermittent Wiper
My '95 E300D has developed a recent issue with the intermittent wiper--it may or may not decide to work when selected. If it is not working, turning it off and on several times may get it going again, or may not. No problems with either of the other wiper settings which work as they should. Is anyone familiar with the wiper electrical circuitry? Is this an issue with the stalk switch or the wiper motor? Or could this be the dreaded wiring harness decomposition? Any advice or direction for repair would be most appreciated!

My E300D had this same issue shortly after I got it, I replaced the combination relay in the fusebox with a used one I had sitting around and it was back to normal.

X2. Almost always this is the multifunction relay on the 124. On the older cars (like the 123) its more often the multifunction switch itself. Sometimes its just the contacts that need a good cleaning or extra pressing.
A forum search can give you a detailed description of the relay as well as part number.

X3. I thought I had mine fixed for good with a little resolder job... intermittent wipers and rear defrost are not working again. Time to break it back out and give it a once-over.
