W126 300sdl idle going up and down.Need some advice..

What seems to be the problem on the 300sdl idle going up & down. Idle stays at around 1000-1200 rpm. Bought it from our neighbour not really sure what he has done on it..

Unplug the electronic idle control at the end of the injection pump to test its function. Engine should go to a stable low idle. Fuel line air leak or clogged filter(s) can also be the cause.

Other thing you can try is to replace the OVP relay. It is next to the Kilma relay with a red cover on top. Faulty OVP will give erratic idle.
