Part Help

As I'm waiting on a my parts to arrive for my 603.970 rebuild, I started to clean and prep the external parts. I discovered that my timing cover is cracked and looks as though I'll need a new one or a good used one. The part number I got was 6010150601, is this correct? Also I called the dealer and its not available so I was wondering if anyone here would have this part.

Thanks

Parts.com has it for $157.50.

You'll have to substitute a "dot" "." for the spaces in the URL below and then paste it into your browser.

Good luck.

I put an order in but they called back and refunded me the money since they order it in from the dealer and they said no stock.

Does anyone know if part #6020150101 will work? I found one locally and it came from a OM606

If you post your VIN, I'm sure someone would be happy to look it up in the EPC for you. They will find both the original P/N as well as any that have superseded it. Alternatively, I know there are some Russian sites that have the EPC available for use, but I don't know how often they are updated, etc. You can give this one a try if you like: Index to Mercedes EPC Parts Info and Diagrams Everything Benz

Good luck.

Look through the pictures at this link; they should be helpful.

I have one I can't remove from a .971 block because the crank pulley flange bolt is on but good. I'll see if I can borrow a bigger impact wrench.

Do you know if the donor 606 used a piston (through mid-97) or vane (from mid-97) vacuum pump? That might be the only difference that matters.

I took a very close look at the part #6020150101 and it is ever so slightly different and it will require more material from behind to be able to drill and tap the hole, so in a nut shell I don't feel comfortable with using it. It looks like I'm back on the search for part #6010150601. I have emailed the seller on ebay and hopefully they ship to Canada.

Sixto I'd really appreciate it if you can, please keep me posted.

Thanks
