1976 240D Charge & Brake Lights Not Working

Started her up just fine today, drove 6 miles to my destination, and when I pushed in the gorilla knob to shut off the engine, the charge and brake lights did not come on like usual. I turned the key off and then on, pulled the knob, started the car fine, but now the charge light flickers moderately at idle. Pushed the gorilla knob back in, still no idiot lights. Could it be that I need a new voltage regulator? The charge light would sometimes faintly flicker at idle when it was really cold outside for the past year or so.
