96 E300D Right Rear window does not work
96 E300D Right Rear window does not work-Switch, regulator, motor all tested good. New Ignition switch, K40. I switched wiring with left door and all worked on right door. Is there a relay between the switch on the door and the Central Contol Unit as I hear it click when I push the switch but nothing happens. If I buy a new CCU does it have to be programed to my car if it is the same part number,210-820-39-26. It is in back of the K40 closet to the firewall in the engine compartment on the passenger side. What else should I check???
Thanks for any help, Ron |

Just wondering....
Just wondering if maybe it's some of the internal parts. On my car 1991 300d, there's the plastic glides that can break. The grease gets old, they don't slide as well, and then they could break. Take off the door panel to see what's going on, is about all you can do.
Good luck. |

In 124s the wiring through the rubber accordion sleeve from B-pillar to rear door tends to fail. Whether this could happen in an early 210 (like your '96 and mine) I do not know. An easy test to narrow down the problem would be to remove the door-mounted switch on the right rear door and check for voltage at the terminals of that plug while operating the console switch for that window. If you get voltage, the problem is in the door. If you do not get voltage, the problem is upstream of the door.

Unfortunately the W210 does it all over CAN bus. The window switches in the console switch different resistance values that are read by one of the SAM modules. The message goes over CAN to the door controller.
Does the puddle light on that door work? That comes off the door module. The door modules to the best of my knowledge are not coded to the vehicle. However you will need to grab one from the same position on the donor as its address is hard coded inside. That is how it knows what command to react to.
