Its fun to look at and compare. My co worker just inherited his dads 2010 s550. He had to get it appeased cause if he wants to keep it he'll have to take its value as part of his overall inheritance. Its worth just shy of 30k. Its fun to look at what 30k will get you. I'm not sure I'd take the S550 over the 300SD... but the S550 did give a back massage

The radio is different from my 82... And WTF are those handles by the seat Belts? Hand pumps for lumbar ballons?

Yup, heated ortho seats. There's a local SD with factory velour that I dare not see for myself lest I drool on the velour. This Canadian SD is more of a unicorn.

As I looked closer I spotted some issues with this car... at some point a lift was used on the frame rails, damaging the undercoating and a plastic under body plug. Not sure how you'd fix that. There is also what looks like sloppy paint repair on the passenger front wheel well - why would this have needed done in the first place?

If you're going for concourse it has the wrong tires... they should have gotten a set made up. The driver's side under headlight trim is also not seated exactly right, and there are some marks on the bumper. In one picture there's no rubber cover on the parking brake pedal, but it reappears in another photo. And what's up with the odd mark on the brake pedal?

Looking forward to warm weather so I can detail it to that level.

Also having the original motor mounts changed and injector return lines.

wow, ya gotta wonder what the technician was thinking when the set the lift on the angled metal there... they should have used the rubber lift points.
also, the rear deck lid (trunk...) is askew on the drivers side...

On Sept 22 1986 20 liters of fuel was added @1968 kilometers, then 2 more fuel additions in the same month while it stayed at 1968 kilometers. The only way for that to happen is a Jerry can?

So it was getting 30.91 mpg. That's pretty good!. Did 617 engines come fully broken in from the factory?

yeah, I read that too... zero miles between 1986 and 2008... but fuel added. most likely from idling in the garage.
this guy may have a fuel tank in his garage. many wealthy garages have them, and fuel trucks fill it up. so he may have had a pump to keep his prizes topped off.

the price paid for fuel could be his calculations from total volume of fuel.
either way, yeah... kooky.
