Any Dash Experts Near Columbia, SC?

I have a W123 Sedan. Is there anyone out there who has experience installing ? Looking for someone who has taken out and installed a number. Willing to drive up to 200+ miles. I am getting a crack free dash. Once it is dyed, along with my steering wheel, I am hoping to find someone who really knows how to do this project versus my first time efforts.

Please PM. Trades or $.

Thanks

79mercy (Stewart) and I are about 300 miles from you in Jacksonville, FL. I know Stewart has done several dash r and r. He's my expert :). Send him a pm and see if he is game. You can crash at my place for a night if you need to.

Done mine twice. It's pretty easy.

There are a few discussions with pics on "how to". I suggest taking pics along the way so you don't forget. It really is not difficult. It is helpful to have a couple of extra hands to get the dash in and lined up. The extra hands need not be educated hands. It will be obvious what needs to be done.

You will want to test and repair/replace vacuum pods and lines while there. You should also test the switchover valves. Rou maight as well take the easy route even though they can be accessed with the dash in place. Also this is a good time to pull the cruise electronics if yours isn't working. It will save you standing on your head.

If you want to ride down one weekend we can change it out. What you got to swap?

are there any vacuum pods in the euro?

I don't know. Was just responding to dash removal which is close tothe same on 123, 126 & even Dodge Ram, & 78 Datsun Zcar. There is always stuff more conveniently repaired without the dash in the way.

Perhaps someone else will comment on Euro 123 and vac pods.

If it is a manual climate control system then no pods but, worse than that, cables (from a standpoint of changing the dash IMHO).

Instead of me doing this once, I would much prefer to have someone who is a pro at it. May I ask how many have you done?

How about a set of injectors, rebuilt with new German nozzles, and I can install those in my sleep.

I've pulled/replaced at least six since 2000.

OK, that puts you light years ahead of me. I have the 240D Euro manual style HVAC system. Are you interested in a swap?
