Monowiper compatibility?
I did a quick search but didn't find a thread devoted to this. Saw a 202 C class today with a monowiper. Have seen 210's with mono wiper. My 124 has a monowiper, which I've replaced once.
Has anyone investigated if these wiper motor/transmissions are interchangeable? I know that in my local boneyards 124's are getting scarce. Rgds, Chris W. '95 E300D 438K

I don't know about motors but the rest of the mechanism doesn't interchange with other series. Certainly not 201, 202, 208 or 210. Not even the internal gears are interchangeable.

I've swapped an early 124 motor into the later assembly, just need to be careful to keep the timing correct. I had success moving the arm into the straight up position (align with Mark 1 Mod 0 Eyeball with the bottom transmission support) and then removing the motor, and keeping the arm at that position while installing the new motor.
The early 124 wipers are longer than the later because the transmission sweep was changed so that a larger portion of the windshield is swept.
