power steering pump lid leaking?

i have an 82 300TD and it seems like it is leaking from the lid on the power steering pump. anyone ever have a problem with this?

nope,but it seem you have dirty clogged filter or intake hole toward steering box (if no filter)...so the excess atf is finding its own way...

Drain it and replace filter. Make sure lid gasket is in place And confirm proper level. You have to go by the "arrows" on the plastic piece above filter.

there is a gasket on there!? oh what a novel idea. for the two years i've had this car it didn't leak and didn't have a gasket so i assumed there wasn't supposed to be one. maybe its a combo of a missing gasket and a filter that is starting to get old. ordered a new gasket and filter. thanks for the help.
