Color of lower impact trim
I've been wanting to replace my "yellow" sun erosion bumper. Are all of these initially the same color for all cars in the W126 series? Where, on the data plate is the color code listed for this?
I went to Automotive Touch Up Paint from PaintScratch - Order Pro Grade Paint and they list a (matt) color. For some reason, the "where to find your color code" won't scroll down to show Mercedes Benz.

Well, I've done some research and this is the trend found on Automotive Touch Up Paint from PaintScratch - Order Pro Grade Paint . I plugged in different model years and found something interesting.
Model years '82-'85 had the same color (7007 Matt Grey Metallic) for the lower cladding. Model year '86 they changed the color (7177 Grey Metallic). Model year '87-'88 there were 7 colors (129,5944,7007,7176,7177,8414,847). Model year '89-'92 there were 7 colors matched to the color code of the body paint. All but 2 (5944 & 7176) were completely new numbers.
