Sylvania headlight vibrating

I bought a Sylvania headlight last summer and it sure vibrates. It's the element inside that's vibrating. The old headlight on the other side that is probably more than 10 years old (car was parked) doesn't vibrate at all. The new one really looks a lot more cheaply made.

By vibrate I mean when I pull up to a wall or other car you can see the light being cast is vibrating.

Do they all do this now? I see a mercedes headlight is like $110. These ones are $7.50

I just bought a Sylvania Silver Star headlight for mine, about 2 weeks ago, and haven't noticed any kind of vibration of the element.

Is your new one a Silver Star or XtraVision? For a cost of $7.50 I'm not sure what you have and may explain the cheap quality. The Silver Star and XtraVision were $25 and $17.

Just the basic halogens that were standard on the car.
I used to buy silverstar's years ago for other cars but I found they only last half as long and they cost 4 times as much. Got sick of changing bulbs all the time.

I know what you are saying. My previous bulb was a Wagner. It lasted for 10 years. It was an "on-the-road" change out and was all they had available. We will see how long it lasts.

If the light is vibrating odds are good the bulb isn't mounted tightly, or the housing is loose. I don't care what kind of bulb is in it, nothing in the element can vibrate... Wattage could vary rapidly causing an intensity variation to show, but if the light beam is moving, the bulb and or the reflector housing is moving...

It's not loose. I should mention that the element is sealed in using silicone on these bulbs. On the old one it was sealed into the glass I think.

The big difference between the old and the new is that the old one has just a filament inside the glass with a shield in front of it that has a slot in it. The new one has an actual bulb inside that has the tip painted black. I'm sure that because it has this heavy glass bulb inside that is why it's vibrating. What a piece of crap.

Every parts site just seems to carry the Sylvania headlights. I guess there's not many options.

The bulb inside is basically the same thing as an H4 bulb

Maybe you're right after all VSTech.
If I beat on the fender with my fists the light doesnt vibrate when the engine is off.
I do know that new drivers side bulb does turn on about a 1/4 second faster than the old style bulb on the passenger side. Perhaps it's simply more prone to show fluctuations in the power. I'll have to do more testing.

Those lights are just re-branded TruckLite LEDs.
