Montana Trip March!!!

Well I figured I better post now to give everyone a heads up on where I am traveling!

Going to go pick up a friend from Montana who will be an extra laborer when ever I get the funds to purchase my 160 year church property!

My buddy is getting enough back from taxes for all the fuel. We have a huge two room tent and we will be taking the euro again!!

Once I ever get the oil consumption under control on the 78 I will cruise with her but she also needs the alternator cleaned/rebuilt and some rust repair under the battery tray and two tires mounted and injectors and and and

Looks like we are going to just go straight up, I forget the week my buddy got off but I believe it is the 20th and he is attempting to get two more days off to make our trip less rushed as our Arizona to Michigan to Alabama trip was.

Brown bomber is doing great, besides needing an oil change, all the fluids are still clear, no blow by and just riding like a dream!

Going to do an oil change, check the valves, probably flush the power steering again and replace with trans fluid to attempt to stop the front seal leak.

I am hoping on the trip to both gather parts and vintage crap!! Its going to be fun, and just at the beginning of spring so hopefully no blizzards to deal with.

We will also be traveling with my new co pilot he loves cars!

Jay, lucky guy!

Make sure the cat has Home Again! Just takes one accident and gone! Almost had that with Lizzie, but caught her mid air (jumped out of the wagen while away from home). She now has figured out how to get out of the back yard and back in, and comes when called, so don't worry. Today she was outside on the patio for the morning, then suddenly inside despite no open doors! Scary thing is that the only way in was the dog door, but maybe with my trip in and out missed her coming in; no collar so can't hear her (went missing and still haven't been able to go all the way to the store).

Being he is paying for fuel, guess then got a little wiggle room, but please remember, keep a little savings back home for an emergency.

So how are things going to work on the home front with three people and a interesting person considering how quickly the bureaucracy is moving?

He has a small dog harness on, ALL the time and walks fine on a retractable ribbon style leash plus he has a portable carrier the size of a duffel bag. The guy were going to get also wants to bring his cat! Now that will be fun! Thankfully the tent can be sealed in the center.

YES I told my buddy we are NOT leaving with out at least an extra 500$ I am doing the driving and this is his thing so expect me to have no monies

Oh lord, that will be fun! I already warned that person, but I told my buddy that he needs to to tell...I mentioned it and now he needs to finalize it! Thankfully I turned the basement into a studio, there is a couch and the guy is under 6ft, skinny and young...so he can style with us down there. I am all honestly not really looking forward to it as this wasn't suppose to happen till we had a place lined up...

Oh he doesn't!!! He wears a cross and bones name tag for a reason, his name Mr Socks is very deceiving and being a young skinny kitten...he can fit EVERYWHERE He came from an adoption center in a Pet Smart..95$!!!! He was covered in dry skin and sneezing something bad. Had to save him! Turns out his sniffer isn't designed right so he is unable to blow out what he sniff...funny as he sounds like a dog while sniffing...not so funny when your laptop is covered in sneezy stuff or he ops to sneeze in your face. Hoping he will grow out of it as he gets older. Noticing a Hepa filter helps him alot.

Have you harnessed that cat? It looks possibly young enough to still do. The best outside and travel cats are trained in a harness from early on. A lady in Memphis, TN had a harnessed cat at the park I was staying at.

If you need a money-making item to carry with you on the trip to earn some kwik cash, give me a PM, and I'll fill you in on the details. Sounds like you might need the xtra cash on the trip.

It's snowed into mid-May in Omaha, Nebraska before, so March is no guarantee of anything but cooler temps.

Okay Jay, that is different!

Think it will work taking two cats? Or is your friend truly moving? Just a bit confused...

So is your friend giving you fun money?

Yes, looks like a plan and a nice setup, but will he last for over three months? I only lasted a night on a sofa and was a short 5'-11" and 165 pounds back then. I was so much pain and didn't get any sleep. Plus, the smell was over whelming (I have Autism so all my senses are heightened, sometimes to a detriment).

Kind of like Lizzie! She has a soft name, being Persian has soft features, but man, if she wants to, can be mean! She took on all five of my "mother's" cats and had them all under control, meaning food and littler box, in a few days. That is why I ended up with her despite then very much disliking cats; she now has won me over... Lizzie has always got along with Ember, but when she came here, took control, Ember got it, built her confidence up (ex. I was closing a paint can with a metal hammer and didn't flench at all, in the past run and hide). Now they can cuddle, but mostly on her terms. Both like the company too! She showed me that she can communicate, and done other smart stuff. Can Socks communicate or do commands?

lol we just had a nice discussion this morning about this! Lets see how it goes now.

I told my buddy the hard luck story. Its pretty much I am NOT playing the maid anymore, its bad enough my mother thinks she is my wife. I am sick of cleaning three floors of a home when I can barely walk on my feet. I told him I am moving to the basement for the main reason, this will be the only area I use and will clean. I then was telling how hard we are struggling to get by and that this idea was fine if my disability was approved but as it stands now I told him are you ready to feed, cloth another person and a cat? I said I am having nothing to do with this. So we will see about the trip now.

I told him there are things around the house, that we really could use that money for besides to go pick up some dude with no income at all. PLUS a cat.

Sorta gave an ultimatum. I said I am not picking him up, but if you want to go live with him...I am more then happy to drop you off in Montana.

Gotta play that age card I have 9 years on him....I have been down this road before......MANY times...I supported way to many family and friends as I was the only one who could ever hold a job and a place to live.

Jay, can we use names? For example, your friend in the hospital could be called Jacques, the one you live with metgezel, get the point? With all these "buddies" I am confused...

I guess another way I am fem: I show my love by doing things, especially around the home. Maybe that is why I like cleaning before company? My Vater and I lived with each other for at least three years, and I cooked, cleaned, and did all the laundry, for anyone who lived there. I only went to High school, so most times I had more time. Every work day he come home to a hot diner, sit down, and start reading never saying a thing until maybe at dessert, if not, at least hug and say goodnight before going to bed. We are both introverts, him more, as when he comes home, wants to be left alone to relax, and I made sure of it. Sometimes we could go a few days without a conversation, just good morning and good night. I like it that way, more him again. Maybe find a way to make cleaning more rewarding?

With the tent he may not have enough room for 50 kilos of uncut product.

FYI regarding the steering pump

They are very cheap at a PNP, and usually not gone bad. I can pick one up for you next time I visit a yard in two weeks. Just my cost + ship

I have found several w123s that no one has picked over in a yard, so plan to get unobtainium items as well. The yard is hurting, will be glad to sell them.

Let me know by PM if you want them and give me details about car for a good match.

Love Montana, bought Citroens there from the estate of the former richest man, who had donated them to a museum, but didn't know how to operate them.

Well today has been a horrible day. I woke up at 4am to a whole bunch of odd calls, it was the hospital calling to tell me my friend(brother to them) has passed away.

It was a totally shocker! I just had a conversation with him and all the people about his release. He suffered from a few not life threatening diseases and the same arthritis condition I have. This is how we meet, we also soon found out that he was pronounced dead the same time my partner had died a few years ago.

He was the one we did the last big trip for, to bring him to Arizona from Michigan to help with his heath and spirits. All was going well until August when I couldn't wake him up. In the hospital they found out he was retaining fluid big time, months and months later they finally figured out what to do to stop it. He had lost 200lbs!!

When we last talked he was happy that he walked 200ft. We were all set to pick him up early next month. We were going to help him recoup and I even took his scooter to the work bench for a rebuild.

Its very sudden, but his body did suffer badly over the years. He passed in his sleep just like his twin sister had some time before. I had to contact a brother as I just was not sure what he has setup in my name, any of his account information to retrieve funds and we have no where near enough for a cremation.

We are continuing on with the trip tomorrow, he was really looking forward to moving in with us and helping with the restoration. He had always thought it would be amazing to live in a property like this. He was going to be a big support of this and now I will need to re-figure out a plan of attack on the property.

I am still in shock and will miss him dearly. I am at the moment where I am happy, angry, sad but thankful. I just hope somehow the brother thinks enough of me to keep me in the loop, as I have his twin sisters ashes here and I believe they should both be brought together.

He would want us to go forth with this plan, take this trip and just have fun. He will be with us in spirits, just because his vessel is gone does not mean he is gone. He wouldn't want us to set here and stew over his death, he would like us to be happy. This project will also help us remember him.

Every event in life is meant to happen, it is meant to continue you on your path. Every test comes with a reward, only you can chose which direction you take.....

Thanks for that!!

You know sadly, and yes I am prepared to be smacked for this. I would like to rebuild mine for the experience. If it gets to bad, as I am not rebuilding it and putting the old hoses on again, I may have to take you up on that. I thought about this when I was doing the Alternator and found out it was almost 60$ for JY one

Oh that is funny! but not the first I have heard of such things. I hear about it sometimes when someone gets a w115 diesel!
