E300D power steering leak

While doing a B service on the E300 today, I noticed some wetness on the power steering hose. See attached. Is this the typical leak scenario with these hoses? I saw a few threads regarding this leak. I think the part number is 210 466 04 81 (feel free to correct me) and it seems like the aftermarket guys don't carry it. MSRP from the dealer is about $140 or $100 wholesale. If that's the way I need to go, I'll buy it from Mercedes rather than take a chance on something Chinese. If any of you have a good source, please let me know. Also if there is anything else that I ought to replace while I'm in the area, please let me know.

You could always find a good hydraulic hose shop in your area. The fittings are fairly standard and provided it's a reputable shop, you get a nice, hand-made local part.

Looks like you have a place right around the corner: Home - Little River Welding & Hydraulics LLC

Or over in Conway: Carolina Hydraulic Hose - Home Page

When I lived in Franklin, NC. I had an Izuzu trooper that had an external oil cooler lines. The dealer wanted over $100 for a hose no longer than 4ft long. Had one made up in town and the local "hot rod and engine rebuilding" shop, and it was done while I waited, and total cost $12.00. Great quality!!!

Take a good look at the other hoses in the power steering loop; if all are as old as the one that's leaking, you might wish to replace all of them while you have the system open.

Thanks for the replies guys. Never had the need to search for a hydraulic repair shop. I may stop by to see what they can offer. I'll also check the EPC blow up and see what else it might be wise to replace. I recall some threads talking about the sealing ring where the hose exits the housing.

Keep the suggestions coming.

Thanks.
