Hi
Would anyone know about my MB 1987 124 turbo Diesel six Cyl.603.xx emission qualification for EU4 acceptance?? .Moving back to Eu. To receive a lic registration for this car needed a emission test report to qualify for a EU4 cert.
How and where do i get it???

Thank you

I doubt the car would meet EU4. EU4 came out around 2005. Your car is 18 years older. Can it be grandfathered for old car?

I'm familiar with the Euro-spec test process (or was 10 years ago - probably all different now) but I have no clue on the administrative process. I know that at one time there were import brokers who could (for a price) help make cars from Europe legal in the US and vise-versa. No clue if there are still folks who do that.

Euro 4 is the standard my 99 Jetta meets - it needs a water cooled EGR and computer controls to do this.

You'd probably need to change to the angled injection of the 89+ models, install a new diesel oxidation cat, and lean out the ALDA. At the least.
